Early Voters continue to turn out in steady numbers on Tuesday, July 21st to cast their votes after a temporary suspension in the St. Thomas/. St. John District. Supervisor of Elections, Caroline F. Fawkes, says she expects an increase throughout the remainder of the week. She is encouraging Voters to not wait until the last day to overwhelm Staff, Poll-workers and Police Support, especially during this pandemic. Beat the rush, see you tomorrow!
Voters have until Sunday, July 26th to participate in Early Voting to avoid the lines on Primary Election day- August 1, 2020. Due to the suspension of Early Voting on July 10th, hours have been extended in the St. Thomas/St. John District from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM. The St. Croix District will operate from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM. Early Voting locations in both districts are as follow:
St. Croix Elections Office – Sunny Isles Annex, Unit 4 (adjacent to Kmart Appliances Store)
St. Thomas– Charlotte Amalie High School Temporary Cafeteria (Sprung Unit)
St. John Elections Office – Market Place Suite II, 3rd Floor
The number of Early Voters to date territory wide are as follow: St. Croix – 571, St. Thomas-275, St. John- 20, for a total of 866 Early Voters.
Supervisor Fawkes reminds the public that Absentee Ballots are available as an alternate for anyone that is unable to Early Vote or participate on Primary Election Day. Absentee Ballot applications are available at the Elections System website www.vivote.gov.
