ELECTIONS SYSTEM ANNOUNCE PLAN FOR DISTRIBUTION AND ACCEPTANCE OF NOMINATION PETITIONS AND PAPERSSubmitted by esviadmin on Mon, 04/06/2020 - 6:03pm
The Supervisor of Elections, Caroline F. Fawkes, announces the Elections System plan for the distribution and acceptance of Nomination Petitions and Papers for the 2020 Elections, in accordance with Title 18 Virgin Islands VIC Title 18. Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the office has implemented new measures that will minimize the risk to both staff and the public and will allow the continuation of the 2020 Elections Calendar Events. The Nomination Petitions and Papers will be available for pick up at the St. Croix, St. Thomas and St. John Elections Offices. The schedule is as follows:
Tuesday April 7th, and Wednesday, April 8th, - 12 Noon – 3:00 p.m.
Monday- April 20th, Wednesday, April 22nd and Friday April 24th- 9:00 a.m.- 12 Noon
Supervisor Fawkes would like to also remind the public that the Elections System offices remains closed to the public and therefore, persons must contact the offices prior to arrival or at the time of arrival. The Staff will ask a few questions to determine which Nomination Petition and Paper to distribute. The contact number for the St. Croix office is (340) 773-1021, St. Thomas Office is (340) 774-3107 and St. John Office is (340) 776-6535.
Additionally, only the following Nomination Petitions and Papers will be accepted by electronic submission to The Nomination Petition and Paper, Affidavit of Candidate, Affidavit of Circulator, Candidate Information Form and Candidate Verification Form. The email address for the St. Croix District aspirants is: PetitionSTX@vi.gov and St. Thomas/St. John District aspirants is: PetitionSTT-STJ@vi.gov. In the subject indicate whether you are filing a Nomination Petition and forms or Nomination Papers and forms and the name of the candidate.
As updated information is received on the Coronavirus pandemic, this information will be provided. The next Press Release will be sent out after April 22nd. No one will be disenfranchised from being a Candidate, Candidates have until May 11th to circulate the Nomination Petitions and Papers.
