Supervisor of Elections Caroline Fawkes is pleased to announce the winners of the “One Person, One Vote” Diamond Jubilee 60th Anniversary Essay Contest. The contest, sponsored by the Elections System of the Virgin Islands (ESVI), was open to students in grades 7-9, attending public, private, parochial, and home schools territory-wide. The goal was to encourage young people to participate in the election process, develop a deeper appreciation for civic duty and learn more about the U.S. Virgin Islands unique history in fighting for universal suffrage.

CHAIRMAN THOMAS HICKS OF U.S. ELECTION ASSISTANCE COMMISSION IS GUEST SPEAKER FOR ELECTIONS DIAMOND JUBILEE GALA
Supervisor of Elections, Caroline Fawkes, is pleased to announce that Chairman Thomas Hicks is the Guest Speaker for the Diamond Jubilee Gala, which will be held at The Ritz Carlton on Saturday, February 25, 2023.
Chairman Thomas Hicks was nominated by President Barack H. Obama and confirmed by unanimous consent of the United States Senate on December 16, 2014, to serve on the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC).
ESVI 60th Anniversary: Marking Milestones” Rescheduled For Airing On WTJX Saturday, March 11 From 4pm - 5pm
“ESVI 60th Anniversary: Marking Milestones,” a one-hour television special produced by the Elections System of the Virgin Islands, is rescheduled from this evening to Saturday, March 11 at 4pm on WTJX-TV Channel 12, the territory’s PBS member station.
The program, a part of the System’s Diamond Jubilee celebration, will feature well known Virgin Islanders reflecting on 60 years of elections, memorable highpoints and sharing their vision for the future. It is hosted by Educator and Historian Gerard Emanuel.
ELECTIONS SYSTEM ST. THOMAS OFFICE TO CLOSE THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23RD
Supervisor of Elections, Caroline F. Fawkes, wishes to inform the public that the St. Thomas Elections System office will be closed on Thursday, February 23, 2023. The offices on St. John and St. Croix will not be impacted and will be opened to the public. Supervisor Fawkes apologizes for any inconvenience.

The celebration will kick off on Friday, February 17, 2023 conclude on Saturday, February 25, 2023. Events are planned on all three islands. The culmination being the 60th Anniversary Jubilee at the Ritz Carlton, St. Thomas on February 25, 2023.
The Elections System of the Virgin Islands is enthusiastic, eager, and ready to sparkle as we celebrate this major milestone.
CHAIRMAN WILLIAMS ISSUES STATEMENT REGARDING BOARD OF ELECTIONS MEETING HELD ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 25, 2023
Chairman Raymond J. Williams of the Virgin Islands Board of Elections today reconvened the meeting held on January 10, 2023, to organize the executive leadership of the board. At that meeting, the board was unable to elect a chairperson after several rounds of balloting, drawing six votes each for both Alecia Wells and Williams, the incumbent chair. Remaining members of the 14-member board were either absent or chose not to cast a ballot. A motion, followed to recess the meeting until the call of the chair but not later than the last day in January.
Special Notice: SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS ISSUES STATEMENT REGARDING REINSTATEMENT LETTERS
Supervisor of Elections, Caroline F. Fawkes, would like to announce the Elections System of the Virgin Islands have sent out the Inactive Letters for the 2018-2020 General Elections in the St. Croix District.
A voter must not vote in the past two General Elections. Letters were mailed to voters on January 2, 2023, and the voter has thirty (30) days to respond to the notice either personally or by mail, a written request for reinstatement of your registration, setting forth your place of residence and your mailing address.
December 30th CAMPAIGN DISCLOSURE REPORT DUE January 23, 2023
Supervisor of Elections, Caroline F. Fawkes, reminds candidates and political committees pursuant to Title 18, Virgin Islands Code, Section 905, Campaign Disclosure Report, the December 30, 2022, disclosure report must be submitted to the Office of the Supervisor of Elections no later than Monday, January 23, 2023.” The forms can be download from our website, https://www.vivote.gov/candidates/forms.

Supervisor Caroline Fawkes announces after a successful, transparent, and memorable 2022 Election cycle we have now pivoted to finalizing the planning for our 60th Anniversary - Diamond Jubilee Celebration. The celebration will kick off with an event on February 20th, the date this prestigious agency was created. Events are planned on all three islands during the period February 20-25, 2023. The culmination being the 60th Anniversary Jubilee at Austin “Babe” Monsanto Marine Terminal, Crown Bay, St. Thomas on February 25, 2023.
