BOARD OF ELECTIONS NOTICE ON ELECTION NIGHT RESULTS

Raymond J. Williams, Chairman of the Board of Elections, thanks all Virgin Islanders who participated in the Democratic Primary on Saturday, August 6, 2022. Chairman Williams offers an apology, however, for the inability to immediately publish the full results of the Primary 2022 election as early as intended. The System experienced delays in transferring files for two of the St. Thomas Voting Centers, which caused the unexpected wait.

2022 PRIMARY ELECTION COUNTING OF ABSENTEE BALLOTS 08.08.2022

 

On Monday, August 8, 2022, the Board of Elections began counting the 2022 Primary Election Absentee Ballots. In the St. Croix District, 120 absentee ballots were counted with an outstanding balance of 29 ballots. In the St. Thomas-St. John District, 165 absentee ballots were counted with an outstanding balance of 43. Please see the attached unofficial reports with the updated contest.

The Board of Elections will resume the counting of absentee ballots on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 5:00 PM. Office locations are as follows:

2022 PRIMARY ELECTION COUNTING OF ABSENTEE BALLOTS

Please be advised that the Board of Elections will be meeting on Monday, August 6, 2022, to begin counting the 2022 Primary Election Walk-In and Mail-In Ballots. The counting will be held at the Elections System offices starting at 2:00 PM. Office locations are as follows:

St. Croix Elections Office - Sunny Isles Shopping Center Unit 26

St. Thomas Elections Office - Lockhart Gardens (Upstairs Banco Popular)

The media, candidates, and public are invited to view the process.

***ELECTION DAY***2022 PRIMARY ELECTION COUNT (6:00 PM)

 

Supervisor of Elections, Caroline F. Fawkes, is urging voters who have not cast their ballot to please proceed to a voting center. All voting centers will remain open until 7:00 PM. The break down per district is as follows: St. Thomas – 1,024, St. Croix -1,037 and St. John-64.

***ELECTION DAY*** 2022 PRIMARY ELECTION COUNT (3:00 PM)

 

Supervisor of Elections, Caroline F. Fawkes, is pleased to report the steady rise with the 3:00 PM count for the 2022 Primary Election. A total of 750 voters cast their ballots in the St. Croix District and 789 in the St. Thomas-St. John District.

Supervisor Fawkes encourages voters who have not cast their ballot to please proceed to a Voting Center. All voting centers will remain open until 7:00 PM. In closing, Supervisor Fawkes reminds the public that “The future of this territory is in the hands of the Virgin Islands voter.”

***ELECTION DAY*** 2022 PRIMARY ELECTION COUNT (12:00 PM)

Supervisor of Elections, Caroline F. Fawkes, is pleased to report the 12:00 PM count for the 2022 Primary Election. A total of 385 voters cast their ballots in the St. Croix District and 467 voters in the St. Thomas-St. John District.

Supervisor Fawkes encourages all to go out and cast their ballot. All voting centers will remain open until 7:00 PM. In closing, Supervisor Fawkes reminds the public that “Voting is not just your right – it’s the right thing to do.”

***ELECTION DAY*** 2022 PRIMARY ELECTION COUNT (10:00 AM)

 

Supervisor of Elections, Caroline F. Fawkes, is pleased to report the 10:00 AM count for the 2022 Primary Election. A total of 200 voters cast their ballots in the St. Croix District and 239 voters in the St. Thomas-St. John District.

Supervisor Fawkes encourages all to go out and cast their ballot. All voting centers will remain open until 7:00 PM. In closing, Supervisor Fawkes reminds the public that “Your Voice is Your Vote and Your Vote is Your Voice.”

2022 EARLY VOTING STATISTIC REPORTS

Supervisor of Elections, Caroline F. Fawkes, is releasing the 2022 Early Voting Statistic Reports which includes the breakdown by Precinct and Age for each island. Early Voting for the 2022 Primary Election ended on Monday, August 1, 2022, with a record-breaking number of 4,418 electors participating, surpassing those of 2018. Of the 34, 697 registered Democrats territory wide, 13% participated in Early Voting. The break down per district is as follows: St. Thomas – 2,182, St. Croix -2,131 and St. John-105.
